How does Just Bookkeeping bill clients?

We will bill clients at the end of each month for the month’s services. For example, your invoice will be dated June 30, 2025 and will be due and sent on July 5, 2025 and will cover HOURS WORKED in June 2025. Please note “hours worked” does not necessarily mean we were able to complete all work required on your account for that month. In cases where information cannot be obtained in a timely manner, the workflow can continue in the future months.

What is my responsibility each month?

If Just Bookkeeping does not have direct access to the accounts that need reconciled, it will be the client’s responsibility to provide all statements which include but is not limited to bank, loan and credit card statements in a timely manner each month. We will reach out to you as a reminder.

Just Bookkeeping will reach out monthly if there are any questions on your account, i.e. transactions that are not easily identified. It is the Client’s responsibility to provide answers in a timely manner.

Does Just Bookkeeping offer extra or specialty services?

Yes, we pride ourselves on providing our clients with whatever services they need to most effectively operate and grow their business. Additional services include but are not limited to cash flow projections, annual budgets, Sales Tax Returns, RITA filing, etc.

What if I want to pay a flat fee each month?

Just Bookkeeping offers monthly retainer fees based on at least six months of historical billing. This monthly retainer program will then be reviewed annually and if an adjustment billing is needed, we will provide a final billing for the year. For example, if you purchase a new business, which would be an extra or out of the original scope of service, this will affect the retainer fee and will need to be accounted for at the end of the year.

Will Just Bookkeeping provide detail of how your hours were calculated?

We are happy to provide a detailed task list of any invoice, upon the client’s request.

Is there a CPA on staff?

Yes, the owner and managing partner is Michelle Allen, CPA.

Can Just Bookkeeping process payroll?

Yes, based on the initial review of your company’s operations if additional services are needed we are able to provide them through your QuickBooks Online account. Please note the level of services you need in QuickBooks will determine your monthly QuickBooks fee.

What is the cost of my QuickBooks software and how will I pay it?

The Managing Partner will review your company’s needs with you and make suggestions for the level of QuickBooks your company will most benefit from. Just Bookkeeping is able to offer an ongoing discount if we order your subscription and are responsible for payment. Your QuickBooks fee will then be billed back to you on your invoice from Just Bookkeeping each month.

Who will work on my account?

The Managing Partner will choose a staff bookkeeper that has the best experience and knowledge for your business. For example, we currently have a real estate professional and a medical billing specialist on staff.

Does Just Bookkeeping carry professional liability insurance?

Yes, through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Is Just Bookkeeping able to connect my business with other business professionals?

Yes, we currently work with several tax accountants and a business coach who can provide additional services to grow your business.

What if my business works with specialty software?

We can customize workflow to either integrate with QuickBooks Online or develop a system of tracking and entering data. It will be the Client’s responsibility to provide any IT support required to accomplish this onboarding task as well as ongoing IT support if needed.

How will I know what to provide you to get started?

We will guide you through an onboarding process which will start with the Managing Partner’s review of your business and then a detailed checklist will be developed to obtain log in information for your various accounts and arrange for copies of any necessary documents to be delivered.

Can Just Bookkeeping provide references?

Yes, there are testimonials on your website, and more are available upon a Client’s request.

Do you do taxes?

We do not offer tax preparation and filing services for IRS (Federal), State or Local Agencies. We can offer recommendations for this type of service through established relationships we have.
